Matthew 11:28-30 (NASB)
28 “Come to Me, all who are weary and heavy-laden, and I will give you rest. 29 Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. 30 For My yoke is easy and My burden is light.”
In response to this Scripture, I heard a gentleman say, “If your yoke is not easy and light, then you are carrying too much of it.” If I understand it correctly, a yoke is a tool that connects two work animals so that they can work together to carry a heavy load. Jesus is saying that if you are connected with Him, He will make the load easy and light and that is what I need to remind myself.
On Friday, we will have an appointment with my neuro-oncologist. I hope to get the pathology report and then discuss my future treatments. Before surgery, my doctor said that depending on the pathology report we might do chemo. This had terrified me. I don’t know if I am just fearful or that God has not given me peace because I should not do it.
So I am asking God to make his will known and to remind me that is yoke it easy and light. If I need to undergo chemo, Jesus will make the load bearable as well. I don’t need to worry about that. He has already proven himself faithful.
Who would have thought that I would be doing this well less than two weeks after brain surgery? I haven’t had an aura (a strange sensation associated with seizure activity). I almost have full sensation in my fingers. Yesterday, I was released from occupational therapy. It is still difficult, but I am writing this blog without becoming frustrated. And I feel comfortable by myself and I don’t need someone to watch me. Once again, God is faithful.
